55+ Years of Brass, Ballads & Billboard Hits
Fun Fact: Chicago is one of the few American bands to successfully dominate the charts across four different decades. Before streaming playlists existed, Chicago was already blending genres decades ahead of its time.
Chicago is an iconic American rock band formed in 1967. It’s musical journey can be broadly outlined in three phases: the jazz-rock fusion/protest era (early 70s), the pop-ballad dominance (late 70s–80s), and the adult contemporary era (post-1985). The band is renowned for fusing rock with a prominent horn section, originally featuring a7-piece lineup:

Favorites and One of Rock’s Most Misunderstood Song Titles
“25 or 6 to 4" (1970)
The Mystery Behind The Scenes: The song title refers to the time of day: either 25 or 26 minutes before 4 a.m. As in what time did you write it? “I dunno 25 or 6 to 4.” Songwriter Robert Lamm stated that the song is quite literally about the frustration of trying to write a song late. And urban legends about drugs are untrue, no matter the speculation.
